Battery Energy, Power & Cycle Life: Reading the Specification

Compare like-for-like values. Nominal, usable and rated energy remain separate; missing data is not zero.

Battery Energy, Power & Cycle Life: Reading the Specification
Product reference: Luna-16.0

What is the difference between kWh and Ah?

Energy (kWh) and charge capacity (Ah) describe different quantities. Usable and nominal energy are not interchangeable.

Power and current

Compare continuous and peak ratings separately. Check operating voltage and the source test conditions.

How should backup duration be estimated?

For a constant load, energy in kWh divided by load in kW gives hours only when energy is available at the same measurement boundary. Nominal battery energy is not delivered AC energy. Reserve capacity, conversion losses, temperature and changing loads must be accounted for; inverter power limits and starting loads must also be checked.

Voltage and compatibility

Match battery voltage range, inverter requirements, communication protocol and firmware. A shared connector does not establish compatibility.

Does cycle life equal a warranty period?

Cycle figures depend on depth of discharge, temperature and test conditions. They are not a warranty period.

Protection and installation

IP ratings describe ingress protection. Check the permitted location and temperature range before choosing an installation.

Source and confirmation

Values marked for confirmation are not verified ratings. Follow each model's source documents and request the current specification.

Source documents

General storage guidance is not a test result for a CSA Solar product. Confirm the model-specific document, version and operating conditions.
